LAPAROSCOPIC SUTURING & KNOTTING COURSE – THE STITCH UP

The laparoscopic suturing course “THE STITCH UP” is a three-day practical intensive Course set-up, according to the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery’s standards, to give all specialists in surgical disciplines an opportunity to learn and practice the basic techniques of laparoscopic suturing.

Hands-on training, using the pelvic trainer to simulate different possible scenarios involving pelvic-endoscopic procedures, will be the core of this course along with theoretical lessons given by expert tutors.

Participants will be trained by using tested and certified practical exercises aimed specifically at the quick assessment of basic and suturing laparoscopic techniques in compliance with the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery’s format.

The constant supervision by expert and certified tutors will ensure the quality of learning, thus enhancing the final results. The assessment of the laparoscopic skills, learned during the course, will be tested by validated competitions and timed tests.

The GESEA Diploma

The European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery in collaboration with the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) has elaborated a diploma programme open to those who have a surgical background. 

The GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) programme is based on the most innovative evidence-based medicine. 

“The Stitch-up” course prepares those wishing to obtain the GESEA diploma. During the course, participants will have the opportunity to be tested by using the LASTT (Laparoscopic Skills Training and Testing) and SUTT (Suturing and knot tying Training and Testing) models used during the GESEA diploma testing. Our Simulation Training Centre for Gynaecology in Rome is officially accredited by the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery for the GESEA Programme.
